This Week!
Five days until we travel! Five days until we travel! This weekend, we did a tad more last minute shopping; stopped at the bank (if you've BTDT, when you made your bank stop, did you keep one eye on your rearview mirror as you sped home to your lockbox to make sure you weren't being 'tailed'? I guess I read too many spy books); and did a lot of touch-up painting.
We also went and played mini-golf with that future awesome big brother Preston. His questions about the trip show that he understands that it's getting closer. There's a slight hint of new concern in his voice... One example of this was that, after the neighbors threw a surprise baby shower for Kim on Friday and another neighbor dropped off some leftover jars of babyfood, Preston said "why are people dropping off so many presents for the baby?" Some of our neighbors included gifts for Preston at the shower so he had something to open too (we have such great, thoughtful neighbors!). Anyway, we've toned down the "best big brother" talk a little bit and just focused on how much we love him. Period.
Sometime Monday, I'll head down to our agency to pick up our final paperwork, luggage tags, etc. in preparation for our trip. The rest of the day Monday and Tuesday will be spent on final pre-flight checks with my team at work - making sure they have what they need from me while I'm gone.
Here are a couple other notes...
I happened to peek at traffic to this domain for the month of June. The power of the Rumor Queen strikes! Look at that spike!
While talking to my mom tonight trying to coordinate calls home, etc. while we're in China, I added a link to a website (over to the right) that shows what time it is in Chicago and also what time it is in Nanchang (near Fuzhou SWI). China is 13 hours ahead of us. Everywhere we're going is in the same timezone.
Finally (I saved the best for last tonight) if you'd like to see a video of our family opening our referral package, check this link
